Top Solar Energy Misconceptions

As the technology rapidly begins to shift its ways to create a better and healthier environment in our world, there are still many misconceptions due to misunderstanding and lack of research. Yes, there is still a long way to go, but fortunately we have come a long way in beginning to solve the problems our environments face. Here are the common misconceptions that are still faced today when it comes to renewable energy.

Renewable Energy isn’t Reliable Enough

The first common myth about renewable energy is that it isn’t big enough to power building and locations for a long time. Many believe that renewable energy is not reliable because it won’t work when there is no wind or sunlight. However, other countries have already been practicing to make sure this myth is debunked. Countries like Ireland, Spain, Denmark have been proving this to the world by using 20-45% of renewable energy sources in their countries.

Renewable Energy is too Expensive

Another misconception that most people have is that switching to renewable energy is too expensive. Burning fossil fuels such as coal is actually more expensive than using sustainable energy sources. There are actually many perks to switching to renewable energy, with one of them being aving money over time. Another is getting extra tax deductions and credits. There are many government programs and sponsorships that will actually pay for your home to get solar energy panels. This can have a huge impact for you as a home owner in the long run as it will save you money throughout the years.

Sustainable energy has Little impact on Human Health

Remember the story of the Lorax by Dr. Suess? There are many valuable lessons that we learned here. Many people believe that renewable energy has a low impact on human health. The reality of it is, someone who has been working for the coal mining industry won’t have clean lungs the day after the world because 100% sustainable. Renewable energy will allow for toxic air pollution to stop spreading amongst the environment. This will lead to better growth of plants such as trees and crops, as well as jobs that have cleaner air quality than burning fossil fuels would do. Toxic chemicals in the environment are part of the reason for diseases such as cancer or premature death. As air would become cleaner, environmental impacts would become less of a concern for human health.
